Revenge...mine or his?

So, this summer I was determined to get at least one painting done, and with a month left to go, I need to kick it into high gear! Having been super busy with this new sculpture - http://www.giantmetalcrab.blogspot.com/ - and a whole lot of graphic design work, not to mention the digital illustration work for Dora the Explorer, I have not had the opportunity to do any painting for several months now. But I am determined to get this one done! I've been working on the sketch for about two weeks now, which is much longer than I normally take, but the posturing and expressions were very important, and I wanted to get them right. (I'll be posting some of the earlier sketches soon.) The illustration is basically just about a very pompous, and previously unrivaled Matador challenging the velociraptor, who is all too happy to devour the bull fighter. The image is really focused on the interaction of the two characters, and their expressions, so I decided to leave out the background entirely. It is approximately 15" x 30". And right now I'm just waiting for the clear coat to dry, so I can start painting. More to come...
